I know from past experience, I can get a cheaper SIM card if I land, go shopping and buy one, then follow the set up and activation, etc. This time, I had the phone number for the card in advance to give to my family and friends; I popped the SIM card into the phone while on the plane, and landed with full access. I had no connectivity issues during my trip but I was not far out of civilisation at any point.

Worked great for our 2 week trip covering almost 4,000 miles and 5 countries. Way cheaper than $10 a day through AT&T.

So very very convenient. I think being out of connectivity for people who are traveling (and don’t want to spend crazy amounts on roaming) is a thing of the past. Simply get an eSim and load a cheap data package for your destination before leaving, and voila you’re on the net as soon as you land. Just great.
